Let

Let love incend the torch that guides you;
Let memory's sweetness rule your mindset,
Let life's mistakes give light to darkness;
Let steps you take; lead you to me.
Let all I am; give cause for reason;
Let all you are; chart every star.
Let all, absurd, make total sense.
Let all be rinsed in who we are...

Children Of The Sun

Your turn to serve.
The fetid ashes on the wind;
Lucifer’s confetti.
“Who wants these ruins?”
I thought she whispered.
As we watched the sunrise:
An angry sphere,
Begrudgingly ambling;
A hopeless solitary daily lurch,
Surveying with shafts of tear filled eyes,
Its children's vision; glory's fire…

One Day

One day;
A vision took me away.

Your bashful beauty.
Sideways glance.
Your stunning symmetry;
Framed by chance.

I watched in awe, as silver parted,
Revealing what I knew;
That this was grace personified.
Then as you sprawled before me,
Perfectly still.
Alive with movement,
Electricity crackling in your eyes,
Sunlight playing on your smile.

The sweetest, softest;
Sound I heard…
Anchored by your every word,
Cascading laughter,
Feeding me…
As rippling waves in distant sea.

“I’ll take you anywhere you want to go”

Instead you took me.
There.

The dusk must yield,
And as the night embraced me,
Like a long lost friend, I was a child,
Forever in that moment.
Colouring the stars I love
With magic ink
As you were still with me.

If I could give a little piece,
Of what you gave to me that day,
There could not be a finer gift,
Than heaven descending where I lay

This Much I Know

This Much I Know:
You blew right through me,
Your spring breeze within,
Cleansing my soul
Of the needles and pins,
Of a life less lived.
The torch that you handed me,
Lighting my path
On a road never travelled.

This Much I Know:
If life were to halt,
Like a grandfather clock.
Suspended in time
Your every caress
Exceeding excess
Reigniting my heart.

This Much I Know:
Be it weird, be it wild,
How your pure aura glows
Like the words of a child
Be it laughter or tears,
I am never alone
When you’re here.
In me.

This Much I Know:
Come what may,
The distance between us
Can’t keep me away
From that which I’ve missed
From that which eluded me,

All my life.

Not Lived

Yesterday I saw two leaves,
Playing; dancing in the wind,
The gentle rain, I love so much.
Caressing, weeping on my skin.

Can’t I sit and hold your hand?
We could watch the sunrise
As the shrieking scream of jets
Mocks a tired, jaded sky.

Our undulating footprints?
They could lead us there,
Creasing sand and kicking rubble
Indifferent remnants of despair.
If I whisper in your ear,
The laughter I so yearn to hear
The cruelty that scars this sphere?
For fleeting hour, no longer there?
I guess for now, it’s just a dream.
The beauty I so long to see?
I’ll find that in my fallen leaves.
And let rain mingle with my tears.
